Foodporn at Long Phung, Vietnamese Restaurant, Pinellas Park, Florida

goi cuonokay this restaurant has the greatest assortment of Vietnamese food I have seen here in the States. Open the album take a look at the scanned menu pages that I’ve listed. The food is authentic Vietnamese. and although I have only been in there a few times I have not seen another Westerner, but the place is full of Vietnamese people from the moment it from the moment it opens. The staff is polite and prompt and the servings are more than adequate. If you are in the area and want to expand your Vietnamese food experience beyond pho this is the place to go.

Pho Queen, Vietnamese Restaurant, Clearwater, Florida, Revisit

pqyou can look at my first impression of the Pho Queen, Clearwater , their menu is there as well. Just follow the link.
I ordered the Bun Bo Hue, a bowl I have been revisiting at a number of Vietnemese places down in Pinellas Park, and area where the are bunches of Vietnemese folk to fill those establishments. Plenty of Thais and Laos also prefer the Vietnamese food to the stuff sold in the pseudo Thai places.

Vietnamese Restaurant, Pho Kien Giang, Bun Bo Hue, Pinellas Park, Florida

pho kienAfter the delicious Bun Bo Hue at Pho 97 I decided to give it a try at Pho Kien, up the road a bit. The minute it arrived I could smell a bit of what I think was Cumin, but not for sure. At first taste the broth was just a bit spicier than at Pho 97, but not at all over the top.
Yes it sure seemed like a bit of cumin, but the  both was very pleasant. The noodle and the meat were fine and traditional. No surprises just the way I prefer it. A banh Mi from the Sai Gon next door to take home for a bit later.

Pho Queen, Vietnamese Restaurant, Clearwater, Florida

pho queenPho Queen, Vietnamese Restaurant in  Clearwater, Florida has the same owners, or at least I was given their business card when I visited Pho Quyen, Pinellas Park. Right on Highway 19 at leat it is easy to spot as it sits in its own building and has a fairly decent roadside sign.
While Quyen, located on park Street and in the neighborhood of a bunch of Vietnamese restaurants and makets, the Queen is in the burbs and based on the folk who came in serves a different crowd. They order by the Number not the name of the food…..

Vietnamese Restaurants in the Tampa, Florida Area

After  nearly 20 years in Northeast Thailand the first think on my wish list on my return to the States was Viietnamese food. No trouble find a couple in the Washington DC area during a short visit to the Capital and here in the Tampa area things have been pretty okey dokey as well.
I have even included a Lao Restaurant, since I liked it. Up to Me.
Remember to beware of online  reviews as many are written by folks that don’t have a clue about what they are talking about.
Most of the places are in the Pinellas Park, Clearwater area–actually….

Taste of Saigon, is now Thien Na, Vietnamese Restaurant, Pinellas Park, Florida

thien-naMore on finding Vietnamese Restaurants in the area coming soon. Yelp, Foursquare,Swarm and Google a person could easily go nuts. I had passed this one a number of times on my way back from Wat Lao Mixayaram. Since the place was packed to overfill on Sunday my stop at Thien Na was a closer to 1100 than noon.
The $7.99 price tag on a bowl of Pho looked a pit dear until the bowl arrived. It was huge with plenty of rare beef, spring onions and a rich broth. I got a take away Banh Mi….
