Wat Sila at Phu Phra, Chaiyaphum, Isaan

is located at Ban Na Kai Sao. Within the compound of the temple is a rock shelter where the bas-relief Buddha images were engraved. It is the source of the name Phu Phra and has been respected among the locals for a long period of time.

wat sawannana khuha, nong bua lam phu is south of Baan Phue which is in Udon Province. It is fairly nondescript as far as temples go, but what was interesting was the walk around the huge rock that houses the temple. I took off down the path the went to the right of the temple as you as you exited it thinking it would only go along the rock face for a couple hundred meters, but I was mistaken.

Tourism Authority of Thailand Khon Kaen Commercial Sucks

Khon Kaen Commercial on Thai TV put out by the Tourism Authority of Thailand is terrible. My wife was watching TV while we were having dinner tonight and I caught the words Khon Kaen and turned to watch and saw a commercial from the Tourism Authority of Thailand.  What a piece of crap! Wat Nong Wang Tourism Authority of Thailand Now, I have been badmouthing the Tourism Authority of Thailand for focusing on the local Thai market and not having a clue on how to promote to the foreign and local expat markets.  I can now see that the Tourism Authority of Thailand doesn’t have a clue about marketing to the local Thai market either. This was  a long, one-minute commercial on channel 5, but it only focused on two temples for the majority of the minute and then showed a few seconds of King Cobra Village
