Do not treat Buddha as merchandise, Buddhism in Thailand 30.16.12

Our good friends at Knowing Buddha may be having their big march in Bangkok, but I am still having a problem with their intent.In my opinion I think  this group would be better served to press to get gambling out of the confines of Buddhist temples, eliminate parties and drinking from inside Buddhist temple walls, using flowers, gold and incense should be eliminated and striving for Dhamma

Where not to Stay in Sakon Nakhon, Thailand an Opinion 29.06.12

We were going to a wedding reception at the M.J. Hotel in town an decided to stay there so that I could have a few drinks and relax, as I do not drink and drive.

An Isaan Live Moment 26.063.12 Sakon Nakhon, Thailand

This is one of the busiest areas in Sakon Nakhon on a regular basis. The double and triple parking helps totally back up traffic, as does people crossing the street in front of traffic and being trying to get left from the right and of course right from the left.Now that I am in Sakon Nakhon it will sort of become like the Isaan Moments from Khon Kaen and where ever else I get a 3G signal.

No Floods in Northeast Thailand. Again this year?

Last year I spent a few months on the road, actually in the water, recording what Thailand’s Nearly English Language Dailies reported as “No flooding in Isaan.” Thousands of people along the Pong, Chii, Pao, and Mun Rivers were driven from their homes and crops and livelihoods destroyed. Thailand Royal Irrigation Dept posting Fast and Furious 23.06.12

“Royal Irrigation Dept assures nationwide flood prevention measures to be in place by Aug” raeds the headline. Which might lead a person to let down their guard and think that Thailand might be safe from flooding this year. Well as we say in Twitter #LMAO #ROFL.

Visit Northeast Thailand, The Official? end of the Drought

While the Thai Government has been busy making “No Flood” and “What Will Flood” announcements some of have been spending the day avoiding local flooding. Such was the case In Sakon Nakhon Thailand Saturday afternoon and evening.
