Thaibuddhism not even close to the real thing in Thailand

I spent 3 years in Vietnam, I did a project for the Vietnamese Buddhist Temple in Seattle Washington, I ate for years with 1000s of Vietnamese in Northern Virginia outside Washingon DC and feel comfortable to saying I know a bit about Vietnamese food.

Welcome 10 Sakon Nakhon, Thailand 25.05.12

Guess this might be the first on a number of Sakon Nakhon drive arounds. People ask why they see the name of this province and town spelled “Sakol”. Many Thai characters, the printed not 2 legged characters, have a different sound if they are the final consonant and the L in sakol is one of those.

The Chang Pi Sanctuary, Surin, Thailand

This appears to be a recent creation that while not a Khmer site has some redeeming features, unless os course ancient khmers built prangs on top of recent concrete structures and painted the brown.
