Offering alms to the monks 30.01.12 crowds and monks at wat pa ban tad

When I stopped out Sunday at Ban Tad the monks I spoke with had no idea what was going to happen Monday the 30th, but mentioned the size of the crown there for alms round that morning.

Observing the 1 year anniversary of the death of Luangta Maha Bua 8 precepts

People started arriving about 0500, but there was already a fair sized group of people who had spent the night at Wat Pa Ban Tad to be there at the precise time of his death at 0353.

I had slept in Sunday morning and had not planned on getting to Ban Tad early. Getting out of Khon Kaen was a nightmare as the marathon was going on and Thai police were out directing traffic (read making matters worse

On street sides, in restaurants, what might be Thailands favorite soup. It is difficult to find anyplace in Isaan where you are out of reach of the soup.The noodles generally come 1 of 2 ways; the white rice “vermicelli in a variety of sizes or mama” packaged noodles.

Art of Drawing ไพโรจน์ สโมสร Pairot Samosorn Sketches 1

Pairote Samosorn was born in 1939 and died in 2008. From 1971 till his retirement in 1999 he was a lecturer at Khon Kaen University.
