Isaan was once  70% covered in forest. this 1991 map shows it now more than 80% covered in desert and artificial reservoirs. The Khao Yai area, along the Cambodian border and Sakon Nakhon still have some forested areas. a bit in Loei and chayaphum. It is now nearly 20 after that map was published. Is there a newer map? I’m looking. How much less forest is there now?
